Dominic Perrottet, Premier of the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW), has admitted to his occasional vaping habit in a radio interview. Perrottet is the 46th premier of NSW who took office on the 5th of this month, succeeding Gladys Berejiklian who resigned over corruption allegations.
Speaking on 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin show, Perrottet said his favorite e-cigarette flavor was mixed fruit, but he wouldn’t use it in public. He also said he doesn’t think vaping will take a toll on his health or affect his political image.
Perrottet is a conservative Catholic with six children. He has opposed legalizing abortion and has supported easing of COVID-19 lockdown measures. He said in the interview that he believes in personal freedom and personal responsibility and will not interfere with other people’s lifestyle choices.
Perrottet also said that he is confident and optimistic about the future of NSW, hoping to lead NSW out of the shadow of the epidemic and restore economic and social vitality.
